for [livejournal.com profile] ryo_of_imratdor. I couldn't write them as a pairing, I'm sorry - I did try! But here they are friends, very good friends. I also broke my own rule... *sheepish*

"Be careful, watch the head..."

"I know how to hold a baby, Thranduil. I could have held you in your own swaddling clothes."

"Point taken.” A sigh. “By all that's holy, I'm tired, Gildor."

"It's nothing compared to what Arenel has felt. You are a parent now. Get used to it."

"And you are the expert? Unbound, childless? Anyway, she’s resting now. Not before telling me what she wants him to be called, of course.”

“You won’t choose a name?”

“No. She’s right with this.”

“Well, that’s why you married her. What is it?”

“She wants to call him Legolas.”

Yes, you really are good at this. Very nice - I think I quite like them as friends.

I think they'd be a force to be reckoned with as friends. There are similarities between them. And thank you, sweetie, a very high compliment. Even if it's said with a Scary, Evil icon.

*hugs* me.

Yes, for some reason Gildor and Thranduil written as a couple are pretty rare occurence. Well, at any rate they make good friends. :) Thank you for the drabble, Red. I really enjoyed it. Though I'd really like to hear Gildor's reaction to that "unbound and childless" comment. ^^

*hugs*

I'm sorry I couldn't contribute to them as a couple. Did try. I think they make exceptional friends at least - enough alike to understand all sorts of trouble. :D

Something along the lines of being able to know about sex without being bound and can also know about children without having one.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, Ryo, truly. You need to write more, too. :)

MOME Award Nomination

It is my pleasure to inform you that the following has been nominated for a Men of Middle Earth Award:

"There Moves a Thread That Has No End" - General FPS Short Fiction - Tolkien

The MOME Awards are meant to recognize the best of each pairing in RPS and FPS for drabbles, ficlets, and short and long fiction; you can find more information about the awards at http://community.livejournal.com/mome_awards/profile.

I am writing to get your approval to include your work on the final ballot. Please let me know by the end of the day on Friday, September 12, if we have your permission. I can be reached at mome.awards@gmail.com

Voting will begin on Wednesday, September 17, and run through October 31; winners will be announced November 10. All stories must be available for anyone to read from mid-September through the end of November so if your story is currently friends-locked it will need to either be unlocked during that time, or reposted to http://community.livejournal.com/lotrfics for the final awards cycle.

I'm very excited about how many different pairings are up for awards and at the level of support the program has received. I hope you will agree to be part of the awards program. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks.

The drabble was lovely, especially the way Gildor instructs Thranduil about baby care!

Hope you have a wonderful year ahead, and belated happy birthday!
